The 2022 Ford Maverick taps into slightly more than 190 net horsepower from a hybrid system. Having the FHEV design, a 2.5-L gasoline engine is part of this class-exclusive powertrain. A traction-type, permanent magnet electric motor is integrated into the hybrid propulsion unit. This all-new Ford model also offers the 2.0-L EcoBoost engine that whips out 250 hp. A turbocharger boosts this signature I-4 engine, which cranks out slightly under 280 lb-ft of peak torque. Some other notable capabilities of the 2022 Maverick include a 1,500-pound payload rating and a 4,000-pound towing rating. When equipped with the 3.5-L EcoBoost V-6 engine, the 2021 Ford F-150 can tow slightly more than 13,000 pounds. Running on normal aspiration, the 5.0-L Ti-VCT V-8 engine allows this full-size Ford pickup truck to tow 13,000 pounds. Delivering a stunning combination of power and efficiency, the PowerBoost Full Hybrid System is available for this light-duty model. Peak ratings of this signature hybrid engine include 430 hp and 570 lb-ft. Creating ten gear speeds, the Modular Hybrid Automatic Transmission System is synchronized with the PowerBoost system. Generating eight shifting points, the 2022 Maverick’s hybrid system is paired with the PowerSplit Continuously Variable Transmission. This compact Ford model also offers an Intelligent 4×4 drive system. Similarly, the 2021 F-150 offers a 4×4 drive with the Electronic-Locking Rear Differential and Selectable Drive Modes for off-roading.
The 2022 Ford Maverick is equipped with the FLEXBED, which includes multiple divisions and compartments for optimum organization. This compact Ford pickup truck has ten tie-down points on the bed, which can be enhanced with a spray-in bed liner or removable mats. Locking rails and locking brackets may be added for even better utility. Some of the vehicle’s top interior amenities include ambient lighting, dual rear USB ports, and storage bins under the rear bench seat. The 2021 F-150 also boasts an array of premium interior items, such as climate-controlled front seats and the Interior Work Surface. Some notable exterior utilities on this full-size model include the BoxLink, 400-watt outlet, and Tailgate Work Surface.
Running on the SYNC 3 technology, the 2022 Ford Maverick’s infotainment center includes an 8-inch LCD monitor. A 6.5-inch instrument cluster is available inside this small pickup truck. Featuring the SYNC 4 technology, the 2021 Ford F-150’s multimedia console is available with a 12-inch touch screen. Both pickup trucks offer the FordPass Connect 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. A digital owner’s manual and other cloud-based applications are accessible from the SYNC 4 suite. Designed by Bang & Olufsen, eight speakers are available for the Maverick. Also made by this acclaimed brand, 18 speakers are optional for the F-150.
