The Ford Bronco makes its triumphant return after a long absence. It now goes head-to-head with the front-running model in this vehicle segment, the Jeep Wrangler. The Wrangler is unbeatable in its off-road performance, but the new 2021 Ford Bronco offers a more comfortable ride. The Bronco also comes with a more pleasing array of options packages. It includes more of the desired safety and security systems than the 2021 Wrangler.

Performance Features

Performance Features

Buyers can choose either a four- or six-cylinder engine on the new 2021 Ford Bronco. The base engine is turbocharged and produces a total of 270 horsepower. The four-door versions are heavier and, therefore, better suited to the available V6, rated at 310 horsepower. Off-road performance is spectacular, and the higher trims come with special performance tires. Seven-speed manual transmission is available with the four-cylinder engine. The ride is comfortable, thanks to the sport-tuned shocks and suspension system. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler is fitted with a four-cylinder engine that pumps out 285 horsepower, but the six-speed transmission doesn’t allow a very good range of gear selection. The available diesel engine has plenty of torque, but its fuel efficiency is below average. The Wrangler is also famous — or rather infamous — for its rough, passenger-unfriendly ride. Riders experience a lot of bounce and bumps.

Interior Features

Interior Features

A very clever set of engineers and designers put a lot of thought into designing the 2021 Ford Bronco. The doors are removable and can be stored in the rear seating area. Back there, the ride height is relatively high, so rear passengers get a great view of the surroundings. The forward controls lie beneath a wide, horizontal dash, and the consoles are full of huge, knobby buttons. The 2021 Bronco can be purchased with drain holes in the cabin so that the owner can wash out the interior with a spray hose. The buttons and dials are sealed shut, so there’s no chance of damage from water. Grab handles are located throughout the cabin. The front seats are large and comfortable, with minimal sag. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler gets no upgrade to the cabin materials, and the base trim comes with no power accessories. The base trim also lacks air conditioning.

Safety Features

Safety Features

The Ford Bronco’s display screen is easy to navigate. The available Ford Sync 4 system is a real leap forward from the currently available Sync 3 infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the trim lineup. Ford is excited to introduce the new off-road navigation system that finds trails and dirt roads. It even plots travel across these byways to reach a specified destination. The Bronco offers stability and traction control, forward collision warning, and blind-spot monitoring in the safety department. It can be purchased with forward-view cameras mounted right above the front tires. The 2021 Jeep Wrangler comes with a very nice stereo system and a large screen display, but advanced safety systems are available only through the expensive Safety Group package.
