However, the MagneRide Damping, SelectShift transmission and Electronic Line-Lock make the Mustang more dynamic than its Dodge rival.

Having only four cylinders, the 2020 Mustang’s 2.3 L engine block offers a remarkable output of 310 horsepower. Boasting the EcoBoost label, this turbocharged powertrain cranks out 350 pound-feet of torque. The Ti-VCT 5.0 L engine doesn’t need a turbocharger to whip out 460 hp and 420 lb-ft. When installed in the exclusive BULLITT trim, this V8 powertrain generates 480 hp and 420 lb-ft. Standard in the Shelby GT350 editions, the 5.2 L Ti-VCT engine unleashes 526 hp and 429 lb-ft. The Shelby GT500 extracts up to 760 hp and 625 lb-ft from a supercharged 5.2 L V8 powertrain. Also having a supercharged design, the 2020 Challenger’s 6.2 L Hellcat SRT engine is rated at 717 hp and 656 lb-ft. Coming from the HEMI family, this eight-cylinder engine is also available in the Redeye version that delivers just under 800 hp and slightly less than 710 lb-ft. However, keep in mind that this HEMI V8 engine has a much larger displacement than the Mustang’s supercharged engine.
A six-speed manual gearbox with the Rev Matching technology is available in the 2020 Mustang. Want to get your hands on more gear ratios? Choose the SelectShift automatic transmission. Compatible with paddle shifters, this ten-speed gearbox works well with the EcoBoost and 5.0 L Ti-VCT engines. The supercharged 5.2 L engine diverts torque to a dual-clutch transmission with the TREMEC design. Tuned for high-performance shifting, this exclusive DCT system generates seven different gear sequences. The 2020 Challenger’s TorqueFlite auto transmission can’t produce more than eight gear speeds. However, this Dodge muscle car has an electronic stability control (ESC) system with three custom driving modes. Of course, the 2020 Mustang also offers a handful of personalized driving modes, such as the Drag Strip, Snow/Wet and Normal. When fitted with the MagneRide Damping System, this powerful Ford sports car won’t get beaten up by rough roads.
Optional in the 2020 Mustang, the Track Apps will make you feel like a professional racing car driver. These exclusive apps allow you to personalize the mechanical metrics of the car in real time. You can access other awesome digital apps in the SYNC 3 infotainment system. Processing signals for up to 10 devices at any time, the FordPass Connect offers unrivaled WiFi access on the go. Additionally, this powerful Ford muscle car flaunts a 12-speaker sound system from the renowned Bang & Olufsen company. The 2020 Challenger’s Alpine audio system only has 11 speakers. Both sports cars offer hundreds of music channels on HD Radio and SiriusXM.
