Displaying the EcoBoost label, the 2020 Fusion’s 2.0 L turbocharged engine unleashes up to 275 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 RPM. This exclusive turbo powertrain also uses the Ti-VCT technology for combustion. Also displacing 2.0 L, the 2020 Accord’s turbo engine delivers a maximum of 273 lb-ft. Despite having the VTEC design, this I-4 engine doesn’t match the patented EcoBoost platform. In fact, the 2020 Fusion also offers a 1.5 L turbo engine from the EcoBoost series. Linked to the Auto Stop-Start mechanism, the compact powertrain is rated at 181 hp and 185 lb-ft. Interested in better efficiency? Choose the Atkinson cycle engine, which is compatible with the hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. This efficient powertrain works in tandem with the eCVT system. The EcoBoost engines send torque to the SelectShift automatic transmission, which creates six gear ratios. The optional Intelligent AWD is optimized for this signature gearbox.
The patented FordPass Connect delivers best-in-class connectivity inside the 2020 Fusion. Sending wireless signals for up to 50 feet, the integrated WiFi network handles 10 devices at one time. You won’t get such impressive connection options from the 2020 Accord’s HondaLink suite. This mid-size Ford sedan offers other all-new technologies, like Ford+Alexa and Waze. You can access these third-party services through the next-generation SYNC 3 infotainment platform. A voice-activated GPS navigation system with Travel Link and Traffic by SiriusXM is optional in the 2020 Fusion. Additionally, this high-tech sedan boasts a 12-speaker sound system from Sony. Connected to HD Radio and SiriusXM, this exclusive audio system delivers nearly 400 acoustic watts. You can’t get more than 10 speakers for the 2020 Accord. Both models offer personalized entertainment options through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
The standard Ford Co-Pilot360 package controls more than five active safety technologies in the 2020 Fusion. Responding to pedestrians and decelerating vehicles in your path, the Pre-Collision Assist drastically lowers the risk of an accident. This exclusive technology triggers the Automatic Emergency Braking. You’ll also get the Lane-Keeping System in this mid-size Ford sedan. If it detects signs of distracted driving, this technology might even encourage you to take a break. You’ll see an icon of a coffee cup appear in the instrument panel. Additionally, the 2020 Fusion is equipped with the Blind Spot Information System, which improves your judgment during potential lane changes. When navigating unfamiliar roads at night, the Auto High-Beam Headlamps optimize visibility. Despite offering automatic braking and various alert systems, the 2020 Accord’s Honda Sensing doesn’t quite match the innovative Co-Pilot360 technology.
