Are you looking for a midsize pickup truck with a ton of available options and a seriously powerful engine? If so, the totally revamped 2019 Ford Ranger might just be the truck for you. It is the first line-up for the Ranger’s fourth generation and incorporates a lot of the F-150’s most beloved features. Let’s take a closer look at exactly what the new Ranger has to offer.
Horsepower, 2.3L Ti-VCT I-4 Engine
Ford Ranger Performance
Every trim level of the 2019 Ford Ranger comes with a 2.3-L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. This engine puts out 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission rounds out this powertrain. This powertrain is a huge draw for buyers looking to get a lot of power from a truck. The engine gives a lot of punch, and, as most midsize truck drivers know, it’s the everyday hauling capabilities that matter most. The truck has a tow rating of 7,500 pounds, but the optional trailer towing package boosts that to a very competitive number. The Ranger is ideal for a trip to the hardware store or for lugging lightweight furniture around. Of course, you can just flip this truck into Sport mode when its unladen if you really want to have some fun.
Ford Ranger Interior Features
The 2019 Ford Ranger has an interior design that focuses on practicality. The driver gets a good line of sight out of the front and side of the vehicle thanks to the low sloping hood and the huge side mirrors. Leg and head space are both more than sufficient, and the front seats are bolstered well enough to provide comfort during long rides. Also, you get a sizable 8-inch touchscreen that displays the user-friendly Sync 3 system. Smartphone app integration via Android Auto and Apple CarPlay make accessing your apps extremely easy. Having Bluetooth connectivity makes the truck’s interface less hands-on, so you can keep your hands on the wheel. Voice recognition also helps keep your eyes on the road.
Ford Ranger Safety Features
As far as safety goes, Ford packs the Ranger with an abundance of standard features. If you go for the XLT or Lariat, you can get automatic high beams, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and lane keep assist as part of the list of standard features. There is also an option for adding adaptive cruise control on each trim level.
