Horsepower, 2.5L Duratech 16V I-4 Engine
Ford Fusion Performance
This year, the Ford Fusion comes with three different engines that provide varying driving experiences. The base engine is a 2.5L with four cylinders. This engine generates a maximum of 173 HP at 6,000 RPM. The mid-level engine is a 1.5L with four cylinders that has a greater power capacity of 181 HP at 6,000 RPM. Topping the line is 2.0L turbo engine with six cylinders. The power output for this engine is even greater with a 245 HP capability at 5,500 RPM. All three engines are paired with an automatic six-speed transmission. The top two engines also get a shiftable transmission that lets you control the gearing for a custom driving experience.
Ford Fusion Interior Features
This year, the cabin of the Ford Fusion offers more technology. This comes mostly from the addition of the Co-Pilot 360, which is Ford’s comprehensive technology package that includes a number of entertainment features. The available package comes with a 4.2-inch driver LCD display screen in the layout of a digital instrument cluster. Dual-zone automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, and SYNC 3, which is Ford’s own award-winning touchscreen technology, complete its list of interior features. The touchscreen can also be upgraded to include navigation and voice activation. The driver’s seat in the base trim can adjust in six ways, while the passenger’s seat can adjust in four ways. Moving up in trim, the seats adjust in 10 ways and have dual memory settings. Split-folding seats create more space in the back row, which comfortably seats three adult passengers. The top trim levels add more luxurious feature too, including heated and ventilated front seats. Leather seats are also standard on the higher trim levels of the Ford Fusion.
Ford Fusion Safety Features
The 2019 Ford Fusion also gets some new safety features this year, courtesy of its Co-Pilot 360 package. This package contains technology designed to prevent an accident in the first place. This includes a standard backup camera, stability control, and traction control. A tire pressure monitoring system, which alerts you to any problems, provides peace of mind on the road. In the back, a child safety seat locking mechanism protects the youngest passengers, while airbags throughout the cabin offer protection for all. On the outside of the car, rain-sensing windshield wipers and automatic high beams add to the Fusion’s safety profile. The Fusion’s list of driver-assist safety aids include blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and pre collision avoidance with automatic braking.
